3 Common Household Items That You Can Use to Keep Your Skin Looking Young and Healthy

If you are like many people, you spend a good deal of money on products to keep your skin looking young and healthy. Although these products can be good for your skin, you don't have to buy expensive formulas to keep your skin looking young and nice. Here are a couple common household items that work wonders for your skin but are also inexpensive.

Vaseline and Sugar for an Exfoliate

You should be exfoliating your skin often. Exfoliating is when you use a scrub to help take off the top layer of dead skin. These scrubs usually have little granules inside a cream that hydrate the skin while it scrubs. If you don't want to break the bank by purchasing these expensive exfoliates, you can make your own with Vaseline and sugar.

Vaseline is incredibly thick and more oil than water based, so it won't absorb the sugar. Just take a bit of Vaseline and sugar and make yourself a putty to put all over the skin.

Once you have rubbed the concoction over your skin, you simply wash it off with water and a mild cleanser and then use lotion to hydrate the skin again.

Baby Wash for Facial Soap and Makeup Remover

The goal for facial wash is to find something that is soap free and sensitive enough for the skin but that still removes all the dirt and makeup. Baby wash is the perfect solution. It is inexpensive, but it is very effective.

Simply wet your face, then rub the baby wash around the skin in circular motions. Rinse with water and then use your favorite lotion to hydrate the skin.

Olive or Coconut Oil for Lotion and Shaving Oil

Olive and/or coconut oil is another good option for keeping your skin healthy. Olive and coconut oil are some of the purest oils that have very little additives, although you should be sure that you are buying the most virgin oils that you can.

You can hydrate your face using these oils. It is especially good for people who have dry skin.

Another use for oil is to shave with it. Putting a thin layer of oil on your legs, underarms, or bikini line is a great way to keep your skin healthy while shaving. It will protect your skin from the razor while still keeping your skin moist.

These are just 3 common household items you can use to keep your skin healthy. If you are worried about possible skin allergies, contact a doctor from an establishment like Advanced Urgent Care for more information before using any products.
